2025 Wedding Invitation Trends

Updated: Dec 18, 2024

In the wedding industry, the only constant is change. As a novelty seeker (read: potentially undiagnosed ADHD creative), this ever-evolving nature is why I love designing wedding invitations. I like timeless elegance as much as the next gal, but today's post is all about the big four trends emerging ahead of the new year.

Top 5 Wedding Invitation Trends for 2025

Without further ado, here are my 2025 wedding invitation trend predictions:

1. Bold Typography and Layouts

  • Oversized Fonts: Statement fonts are star of the suite, often replacing traditional design elements like watercolor florals and venue portraits.

  • Asymmetrical Layouts: Modern and dynamic layouts feel fresh and unexpected, even when paired with more traditional fonts.

  • Personalized Monograms: A one-of-a-kind monogram builds a cohesive brand across all of your wedding stationery, from save the dates to your cocktail napkins.

2. Tech Integration

  • QR Codes: More and more couples are including QR codes on their details card for a seamless integration of their wedding website, which includes information about accommodations, registry, and the venue.

  • Online RSVP: With the rising cost of printing, online or postcard RSVPs offer a budget-friendly alternative for collecting replies.

3. Maximalism

  • Layered Stationery Suites: Wedding invitations with multiple inserts, belly bands, and wax seals create a tactile experience for guests.

  • Vintage Patterns: Baroque and Victorian-inspired illustrations ruled in 2024, and it seems they’re here to stay!

  • Bold Color Schemes: Hot pink and orange, coral and turquoise, sage and terracotta – this year, couples are trading all-neutral palettes for eye-catching colors you notice as soon as you open the mailbox.

4. Storytelling

  • Unique Sizes: With the rising costs of weddings, die cuts (custom shapes) are out of reach for many. Nontraditional sizes empower couples to embrace formats that stand out without breaking the budget.

  • Cultural Infusions: Patterns, colors, or designs inspired by the couple's heritage honor family legacies while paving the way for a new chapter. Multilingual invitations also appear to be on the rise.
