Now I'm down bad crying at the gym... because one of my all-time favorite shoots is over!
If you've seen my previous blog posts, you know I'm a loud and proud Swiftie. Last year, my friend Bree (of Bree Smith Photography) and I collaborated on the most romantic Lavendar Haze themed wedding in Edmond, Oklahoma. We had so much fun, we decided to get the band back together for Taylor's release of The Tortured Poets Department. I'm not gonna lie – transitioning from lovey dovey butterflies to moody, tear-stained nuptials proved to be a creative challenge. But that's what custom wedding invitations are all about!
I'll tell you soomething right now, I'd rather burn my whole down life than go one more second without dropping this gallery. Okay, okay. I'll stop dropping lyrics.
For now...
BUT before you step foot as a guest into our TTPD wedding, I highly recommend listening to loml in the background. It was my personal soundtrack for this suite.
TTPD Wedding Invitation Design
For the design, I knew I wanted to lean heavily into the album's academic aesthetic.
For the main invitation, I went with a traditional serif and typewriter font combination for a nostalgic, poetic feel. Think tortured artist crying at the keyboard, like Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge. Mirroring the album cover, I placed the couple's names (a clear nod to the songs Peter and Cassandra) asymetrically across the top of the invitation. For the RSVP and details card, I added the tiniest handwritten details tucked away in each corner the way an artist would sign their work.
Overall, the TTPD wedding suite is giving phantoms dancing on the terrace meets running with my dress unbuttoned. At least those are the lyrics I kept coming back to while working on this suite!
Taylor Swift Wedding Gallery
Now, the question you've all been waiting for... will there be a Reputation (Taylor's Version) invitation suite next? I guess that all depends on one thing.
Are you ready for it?
